What We Found in the Sofa and How It Saved the World

River, Fiona, and Freak are the only three kids living on the edge of Hellsboro, an area abandoned because of an underground coal fire that has been burning for the past 12 years. One day, the three find a sofa at their bus stop, and begin to investigate its origins. They quickly realize that this is no ordinary sofa, and its owner, Alf, is no ordinary person. They are charged with helping to save the world from Edward Disin, an invader from another planet who also happens to be a crazed crayon collector. A lot of adventure, combined with a bit of mystery and science fiction, this book is a wacky and wonderful read.
