Who is Toulouse? Woodrow doesn’t know, but he likes the guy even though he is Kindergarten little, dresses like a grandfather, carries a briefcase full of interesting things, and is from Montreal. Toulouse also proves to be a talented painter, musician, fly fisherman, and volley ball player. The class bullies pick on Woody and Toulouse because they are both different and a little weird. Woody stands up to the bullies who have been picking on them. After Toulouse lets Woody see who he really is, Woody finds that in his friendship with Toulouse “it is harder to be a weirdo when there’s someone who’s as weird as you are.’ Both learn to be true to who they really are.
